A baby that has colic or suffers from reflux is a very unhappy and irritable baby. If your baby is experiencing these symptoms, I will come into your home and review your baby's daily schedule. I will assess and correct issues that could be causing colic or reflux-like symptoms. I will also show you techniques to drastically reduce your baby's discomfort, making him or her much happier!
Colic. It is not uncommon for newborn babies to go through a season where they are extremely irritable and cry frequently. However, if you suspect your baby may be suffering from colic, here are a few symptoms to watch for: (1) Cries vigorously for long periods of time despite efforts to console; (2) Cries around the same time each day; or (3) Shows signs of gas discomfort and abdominal bloating.
Reflux. Babies generally spit after feedings or even vomit from time to time. However, frequent vomiting or spitting is not normal. It is a condition called gastroesophageal reflux (or just reflux). Most babies outgrow this condition. To help alleviate your baby’s discomfort, I will teach you techniques that will help them outgrow it faster and yield desired results. Here are a few symptoms of reflux: (1) Frequent spitting or vomiting; (2) Baby refusing to eat or only eating small amounts of food; and (3) Sudden or constant crying or arching of back while feeding.
